29 Day Organizational Challenge Week 1 Progress Update

This week has been been busy. And not really busy cleaning my office either. I know, I know.

Hey, don’t judge me.

Baby steps.

I do plan on spending a bit of time doing some purging in there this weekend though.

I did do some things this week. Most importantly, I found my camera. It was a joyous moment. I may have done a little dance.

We also broke out the Neat Receipt. I thought this was a good place to start, as paper clutter seems to be the main problem in the office. We wanted to check out the software and see if it really was all it’s cracked up to be. We’re still on the fence. I think it’s going to take me a while to see if it is something I will continuously use and be able to use it to its full potential. I’m kinda liking it though. I’ll keep you updated.

I found a great four-bin letter hanger at Marshall’s that I thought would be great for organizing the mail. I always find them with three bins and three doesn’t work for me. I think this just may do the trick.

I also found the wall color I like. It’s a nice mocha color. My husband really had his heart set on a dark brown, but the desks are a dark brown and it just wouldn’t work. I think this color will bring out the deep brown of the desks and the leather chair without making it too dark. It will also cover the highliter my daughter used to draw all over the wall, a discovery I made when I pulled the big leather chair out. Which is, coincidentally where I found my camera. Please don’t make me tell you what else I found behind that chair.

This weekend I am hoping to get the drawers and the bookcase cleaned out and hopefully get some more receipts scanned and start cleaning out the file cabinet.

I haven’t started the kids new area yet. I am hoping I’ll have an update on that for next week’s link up. I have some little projects that I am giving them to do this weekend as well. They’ll be thrilled. This is the time for a sarcasm font.

So, there is some headway being made. I have received some comments from other bloggers, who I hope will continue to follow my progress. I’ll be heading over to their sites now to see how they’re doing. If they are like me, they’ll be needing some encouragement.

I’d love to hear how you all are doing with your projects.

Check out some of the other updates at the first link up

Keep up the good work.

  1. Sometimes, baby steps are all that you can do. I’ve spent chunks of 5 different days on my mess, and it’s definitely smaller, but still a lot of work ahead.
